Bald Head Island - Saltwater Fishing Report

Spring fishing has started with the Virginia mullet bite just outside Bald Head Island Marina entrance. The mouth of the Cape Fear River is having its annual run of whiting or Virginia mullet, bite has been steady, just having to move around a little adjusting to the changing of the tides.Light spinning rods with a double hook bottom rig, small hooks as the eagle claw size 3 plain shank(084A-3) work well. The freshest shrimp you can get will yield a bigger catch at the end of the day. This is a fishing trip for children and adults lots of action and catching!
