Galveston Bay Fishing Report 2-11-23

Capt. Alan Pereyra
February 11, 2023
Galveston - Saltwater Fishing Report

It has been pretty tough for us down here the past two weeks. We have had a couple of really cold fronts and a little too much rain. The fronts have come with some really strong winds and add in a week of the full moon, that makes it tough.
Now on the good weather days we have been able to put together some really nice boxes of speckled trout and red fish. Finding the cleanest water and fishing the very beginning of the outgoing tide as been the most productive for me.
I am using live shrimp fishing under a popping cork and trying to get as close to the bottom as possible. The fish are feeding for only an hour or two then it's just pick and peck the rest of the day.
It will get better and better as we approach spring, The fish will start to school up and feed more consistently once the water and weather warms up. Well until next time, I will see you on the water.
