Quepos - Saltwater Fishing Report

As Holy Week passes us here in Quepos Costa Rica and Blessed us with some spectacular Fishing Reports, Anglers have been having some fun both offshore and inshore. As most of April passed by with consistent reports for our Quepos Fishing Anglers on Sailfish and Dorado we hardly had any reports of Marlin and then in the midst of Holy Week here when you may not be able to purchase alcohol but you certainly can catch a Marlin. We had days in a row with fantastic Marlin presentation on the 32' Mad Marlin and our 33' on one day as well. First Angler Scott Nichols and his buddy Woody with kids Ian and Kasey were presented with this beautiful 400 lb. Black Marlin they released after a fantastic display of jumps and a fantastic fight.

They also released a Pacific Sailfish. The next day anglers Jeff and Karen Neville on their third day of fishing. Day 1 released a Sailfish on Fly Gear, Day 2 had several Roosterfish and day 3 after having a Sailfish on but spit the hook had a 400+ lb. Marlin come up on everybait in the spread just looking for something more. As Jeff stood there with his Fly Rod and saw the magnificence of this fish he bowed down and stated he did not want any part of that! The crew was just waiting for him to drop the fly to him but he said No Way! One can appreciate that when you have seen the sheer size of one of these jumping out of the Pacific Ocean. I still get goosebumps replaying a 350 lb. Blue jumping out of the water 4 meters from the cockpit. It is an amazing Sight! Inshore anglers were also delighted with Roosterfish this past week as Lincoln Adams who always fishes with us offshore opted for an Inshore day to try for a Roosterfish and was rewarded with this 75 lb. Rooster

along with 3 others.
Quepos Fishing Forecast:

The last 3 Full Moons have resulted in great fishing just up to the Full Moon and then followed by maybe 3 bites or so. Hoping as our charter days get busy the end of this week so does the bite!
