Nice Catches This Week In Fort Lauderdale

Capt. Vinnie Sacks
November 27, 2023
Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here, this week in Fort Lauderdale we had some great fishing we will start off the report on the inshore side where the reef fishing bite for great eating snappers like yellowtail and mutton has been exceptional, all the dirty water we have been having has been helping to camouflage your line and get those quality bites from larger snappers. While anchoring up and fishing for snapper there has been some nice sized Spanish mackeral chasing ballyhoo that have been coming up in the chum. If your looking to do some snapper fishing for yellowtail I still recommend at least a 6 hour minimum trip but 8 hours is better, you need the extra time in order to let the chum work and develop the spot. As for trolling on the reef there has been a few kingfish hiding in the dirty water anything bright colored like pinks or yellows has been working well to stand out, the sailfish bite has slowed up due to the dirty water but I would imagine in the next few days the bite will turn back on. Now as far for the offshore report there has been a beautiful current edge in around 450 feet of water where the dirty green water turns into that beautiful purple Gulf Stream water, there has been some really good mahi action on the edge with our surface baits as well as a great skipjack tuna action as well, when a current edge forms such like this one you want to be ready because any type of pelagic fish could appear such as mahi, sailfish, wahoo, and tuna. Sometimes there are some floating debris in tide edges such as this and fishing a planer down could result in a nice wahoo caught. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos I have of some recent catches caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters, and remember to give us a like and a follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. As for the week ahead we have some availability and the weather looks great so if you are coming down to Fort Lauderdale and looking to get out deep sea fishing look us up we would love to have you. more later...
