Fort Lauderdale, FL - Offshore

Capt. David Ide

Fort Lauderdale - Saltwater Fishing Report

May fishing is as good as it gets!

This is a great time of year to fish. The Black fin Tuna have showed up on the outer edge of the reefs. Schools of Mahi-mahi are showing up any where from 300’ of water to 25 miles offshore. Wahoo have been biting real well too, from 120’ out to 300’.

On the wrecks we have caught plenty of Amberjacks, Groupers and even a nice sized Goliath Grouper (Jewfish) that we released.

The Hammerhead Sharks and many other species of Sharks are still around in good numbers.

Trolling on the reefs has produced plenty of King Mackerel and some nice sized Bonitos.

Sail fishing has been real good for this time of year. We had heard of a White Marlin caught last week.

Just about every species has been caught on our boat in the past 2 weeks. We had a 57’ Cobia one day and the next night we had a 100 lb Swordfish.

Let’s go Fishing!

Catch-em-up,

Captain Kunta
