Fishing in SW FL? Check Out Tournament Results

Capt. John GiddyUp-Bunch
July 27, 2009
Fort Myers - Saltwater Fishing Report

As you know the report before this one Sucked The Big One right? As the ETRADE Baby would say "Check it." Last week was a major female dog.
Water temp 89 degrees. Hell, I've been on a budget and didn't get my hot tub to 89. Anyway, have a seat and think about the following NO BS Tournament results from DD Bait&Tackle in Matlacha, FL. There were 54 Boats in the Tournament this past Saturday (a couple of days ago). If there were 54 Boats, guess how many Teams there were? Duh, 54! LOL.... So, 3-4 per team so do the math. For all those reporting SW FL to be on fire with great fishing here is the NO BS SCOOP. 16 Flippin Boat weighed fish. 8 Boats weighed 3 fish. The other 8 boats either weighed 1 or 2 fish. So class, how many boat/teams did not catch fish in this 1 day Sat Tournament. Hint: Subtract 16 from 54.

So, when I tell you the High Pressure and slow Incoming Tide has the bite turned off, Trust me.
I owe you honesty and no BS. These are the Tournament numbers. Like I said in my report yesterday, I was not alone in finding tough fishing conditions.

I want the autographs of those Studs running the table. Maybe Florida Sportsman Magazine will ask them to be Seminar/Boat Show Speakers. When I say it sucks, trust me. "GiddyUp"
