SeaVee Boats - Catch More Fish

Fishing Report for Homosassa, Florida

Capt. Mike Locklear

Homosassa - Saltwater Fishing Report

April is Cobia month in Homosassa

Some exciting fishing on the Homosassa flats is when the cobia follow the sting rays. Today one of my fishers caught two on light tackle. The fish were not very big as cobia standards go, but they were plenty frisky and provided a good 5 minute thrill.

From the perch of the Pro-Line skiff the flats were vivid as the clear blue skies gave perfect all around visibility. The best time today was from about 11:00 to 1:00. The water temperature is around 70-72 and the air was feeling very good at 75 degrees.

Cotee Jigs were offered as bait and the cobes scarffed them down like candy to a baby.

Plenty of other action was available like jack crevalles, lady fish and later on when the tide was at flood peak - redfish.

If you are too busy to go fishing well you are just to darn busy.
