Branson: Fishing guides continue to target fish deep on the lower end of the lake. Drop shot rigs with UV finesse worms, Chompers Drop Shot worms or Yamamoto cut tail worms have been effective in three locations; Tree tops from 30' – 55' deep, large community docks or main lake gravel points from 28' – 42' deep. With all of the current running through the dam trees and docks close to points have been more productive than those in pockets or coves. Jewel Classic Spin-X with a 3.8" Bass Pro Speed Shad has been a great option. Work the bait slowly over tree tops from 15' – 25' deep on channel swing banks.

Kimberling City: The Jewel Spin-X bite is stronger in the mid lake than in Branson. Fishing guides have been fishing the bait with Bass Pro Shops Speed Shad or Strike King KVD swimbaits on main lake and secondary channel swing points. Submerged trees on the point make all of the difference, look for points with a few scattered trees rather than a large group of trees and work the bait slowly over the tree tops with a stop and go retrieve to draw strikes. There is a decent shallow bite shaping up with the influx of dirty water coming from the James. Jewel Squirrel heads with finesse worms or beavers and Jewel football jigs worked on main lake roll off points have been producing from 10' – 25' deep closer to the roll off.

James River: Heavy rain Wednesday evening are still flowing into the lake via the James River, muddy water full of debris is slowly making its way into the lake. Areas above Piney Creek are already difficult to run with the amount of debris, it will continue to wash down stream and break up but use caution when running in the river. There is a good shallow flipping bite with the water rising; big worms, brush hogs and Jewel J-Lock jigs have all been effective around shallow cover. There is also a good football jig and Carolina rig bite on main lake gravel points. Look for fish to be 8' – 20' deep on gravel points with a steep drop on one side.

White River: The White River continues to be the favorite area of the lake for Branson fishing guides. From Baxter to above Shell Knob there are several bites producing numbers and quality; Jewel Classic Spin–X over tree tops, Drop shot rigs on gravel flats and over deep trees and Jewel Football jigs on main lake gravel points are all working right now. Much like the mid lake look for fish to be suspending over trees on channel swing points; a slow retrieve with occasional pauses will draw strikes. A little deeper on main lake and secondary points you'll find schools of spotted bass holding tight to tree tops 30' – 50' deep; drop shot rigged UV worms, Chompers and Yamamoto worms are the ticket here. Long tapering gravel points on the main lake are holding a mix of largemouth, smallmouth and spotted bass, Jewel football jigs with J Tail trailers and Carolina rigged brush hogs will produce from 12' – 25' deep.

The continual generation finally stopped on Wednesday, the Corps has Table Rock at normal summer pool so generation should be back to normal as well. Here is what's been working for Branson fishing guides this past week:

• Night Crawlers on a drift rig have been a great option from Fall Creek to Cooper Creek.
• Egg and scud fly dropper rigs are working on drift rigs from Short Creek to Monkey Island.
• Zig Jig marabou jigs have been great, sculpin and olive colors around docks and other cover
• Trout magnets continue to produce beneath a couple of floats 6' – 8' down.
• Micro Marabou jigs have been a top producer below a float. Brown and olive have been the best colors.
• Egg flies and "glo bugs" cast upstream on a drift rig have been working well on a drift rig with a two pound leader.
• Gulp and Power Bait Eggs fished from channel banks up to flats have been effective, mix egg colors to draw more strikes

The trout fishing on Lake Taneycomo continues to be excellent, ever changing conditions make it more important than ever to have a guide with the right knowledge to put you on the trout. Call Focused Fishing Guide Service at 417-860-4743 today and book your trip of a lifetime.
