Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

LAKE BUCHANAN: Water murky; 74 degrees; 1019' Lake Buchanan Inflows Falling; Conditions Easing Because the inflows entering Lake Buchanan from rains upstream are doing so at a gradual increase. Runoff from rainfall last week continues to flow into the Highland Lakes. Lake Buchanan has risen to just over to 1019 on Thursday, July 11th.

LARGEMOUTH Are fair along channel breaklines slow-rolling a 1 1/2 oz. white/chartreuse Heavy T spinnerbait (www.terminatorlures.com), pitching a4" black/blue Super Tube Heavy and dragging a 4" blk/red SlidingWeight Craw Fish www.slidingweight.com STRIPERS: Are slow to fair, seem to be repositioning with the changes in the water.

WHITE BASS: slow to fair trolling and casting 2" Lit'l Fishie Shads and Tiny Traps.

CRAPPIE: Slow

CANYON LAKE: Water muddy to murky; 944.70' and dropping:

The lake is closed to all recreational boating traffic by authority of Comal County Commissioners until approximately July 20th. All U.S. Army Corps of Engineers parks and ramps are closed until about September.

LAKE LBJ: Water stained to murky with strong current; 74 degrees; 824.43':

LARGEMOUTH are fair to good along boat docks using black/blue Terminator Pro Series jigs and black/blue fleck worms and 4" black/red fleck Sliding Weight Craw Fish (www.slidingweight.com)

WHITE BASS are very good but small on chrome Spin Traps and 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows.

CRAPPIE are slow.

CHANNEL CATFISH: Very good.
