Canyon Lake - Freshwater Fishing Report

Canyon Lake: Water clear; 50 degrees; 902.76':

Largemouth are good in 15'-30' on mainlake points on Carolina rigged lizards, JDC drop Shot worms on drop shot rigs and bubblegum Scoundrel worms. Smallmouth are good in 6' to 15' on mainlake points and bluff ledges using all chartreuse Custom tungsten spinnerbaits, crawfish Rat-l-Traps and smoke-red tubes on jig-heads. Stripers are good under birds in main river on weighted Albino soft jerkbaits, vertically jigging silver 1/2 oz. Pirk Minnows and white Curb's striper jigs. White Bass are improving vertically jigging 1/4 oz. Pirk Minnows and white or chartreuse rubber skirted Road Runners in 12'-20'. Crappie are slow in trees in 12' to 20' using live minnows and white Curb's crappie jigs. Lake LBJ: Water clear 47 degrees; 824.95'

Largemouth are good t6o 9.4 lbs. in 6' to 15' along creek points w/brush or wood and stumps on break- lines of flats using Texas red Terminator spinnerbaits, Texas rigged Ring Worms with chartreuse tails and dead-sticking watermelon-red plastic stickbaits. White bass are fair to good trolling Shad Raps and vertically jigging Tiny Traps and Pirk Minnows under birds. Crappie are fair to good around boat docks using live minnows and crappie jigs. Lake Buchanan: Water clear; 46 degrees; 998.28': 14 Feet Below Monthly Average

Largemouth are fair in 10'-25' along ledges around deepest creek points using pumpkin finesse jigs with Devil's Tongues trailers, chartreuse crankbaits and green pumpkin tubes. Stripers are good to 24" in 18'-28' from Paradise Point to Shaw Island vertically jigging Pirk Minnows, white Curb's striper jigs, trolling Gizz 4 crankbaits and drifting live bait. White Bass are fair and improving trolling "Down Deep" Shad Raps, jigging Pirk Minnows and Tiny Traps.
