Lake Ray Roberts White Bass Fishing Report

Capt. Tim Wike
March 14, 2011
Lake Ray Roberts - Freshwater Fishing Report

March 14, 2011

Lake Ray Roberts is a foot and a half lower than normal level with water temperature at 55 to 58 on the main lake. Sand Bass fishing is very good and we are getting limits of good keepers most trips. Strong winds that keep us from moving around the lake can keep us from getting on a good bite but lately on windy days we have done well. Best depth this week is 28 to 34 feet. We are fishing humps, points, roads and ridges mainly on the east arm of the lake from Isle du Bois State Park to Wolf Island. We are catching all our fish on Cotton Cordell CC Spoons 3/4 oz. chrome color with a Flies-By-Night chartreuse fly tied 14 inches above the spoon. Birds have been working some days to help find active feeding fish and when the birds are not working and just sitting in a group on the surface it is likely the sand bass are near the area. If you want a Spring fishing trip get with me soon as my calendar, this time of year, fills up fast especially on weekends. My next available weekend day is April 16th but I have lots of weekday availability most weeks this Spring.

Have fun fishing,

Tim
