Kitimat Coho
Photo of the Week Hi Noel, I had the pleasure of fishing on the Kitimat River with
my very good friend Mike Herzberg on August 17th. Mike and I have been friends for
over 25 years and have been business associates in the guiding business for 10
years. It was an awesome morning of Coho fishing. We hooked 9 Coho and landed 4. It
was a lot of fun fishing together and as Mike said "it is not only important to
catch the fish, it is also about having fun and creating some fond memories with
good friends". The river conditions were excellent, the weather was great and the
Coho fishing was better than we both thought it was going to be. Mike and I shared
our personal theories of our superstitions and quirks. I have a "Lucky Fish Hat"
and Mike a few "Lucky Charms" in his truck. Whether or not the Lucky Charms played
a role or not, the Fish Gods smiled on 2 good friends fishing together today. Right
tools for the job: Luhr Jensen #35 hot shots; Fenwick Legacy 9' rods; Ambassadeur
5500 reels; 15lb Berkley Big Game line. All fish were released using a Rushton
landing net. Photo of Ron Wakita's Coho courtesy of Mike Herzberg. To book a guided
fishing trip please contact: [email protected] http://www.noelgyger.ca Phone
