Jacksonville - Saltwater Fishing Report
EVERYDAY...the Black Drum are so think, I believe this is definately the year of the DRUM.
My customers have caught so many I'm about tired of them. I need to get back to the ole Trout Fishing.
Dec. 29, 30, 31st was crisp cool morning, with warm sunny afternoons.
As the rest of the country (east coast) is digging out of the blizzard. Here we are whackin and stackin the Drum.
Just like a Redfish, just not as attractive. These fish are straight up and down pullers on light tackle.
No matter what age my crews have been. They all loved the YANK and CRANK, on a light Ugly Stik and small Low Profile Shimano reel.
But, given the chance I will be Trout fishing here this week. Fisrt of the New year, because of the rising tide in the morning.
YOUR CHARTER is based on the tides.
Booking in advance and consulting me about what days and what times of month are best is a smart thing to do.
But...not many do that. So when the fishing gets tough because of weather and winds. That's when the bite will be off.
CALLS are always better than am email.
Nothing but dead shrimp is all bait we'll need for St. Johns River Inet bottom fishing. For Trout I use loads of live shrimp only.
This is the best inshore fishing time of the year. Oct thru May. With November still being my #1 month of all.
Get in on this NOW...because this is not the same in July's heat.
