North Biscayne Bay Fishing Report

Capt. Alan Sherman
December 7, 2006
Miami - Saltwater Fishing Report

FISHING NORTH & South BISCAYNE BAY, FLAMINGO & OFFSHORE with Capt. Alan Sheman

The holidays are fast approaching and I am sure everyone is scurrying around the malls looking for gifts for those special people in their lives. Yes we are all in the same boat when it comes to holiday shopping. It has to get done, but wait what about fishing? Yes that has to get done as well if for nothing else our sanity. Well what are you waiting for there is still time to book a fishing trip while the fishing is still good. Fishing offshore on the few calm days that we have had has been producing nice kingfish, Spanish mackerel, snapper, grouper, dolphin and the sailfish bite has been awesome. Closer to shore bluefish, Spanish mackerel, jack crevalles and ladyfish have been just outside the surf line producing some red-hot fishing. Inshore in North Biscayne Bay with the warmer water temperatures snook have been biting in the daylight hours. Big jack crevalles, ladyfish, barracuda, sea trout for catch and release, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, snapper and grouper have all been available on the grass flats, shorelines and around the bridges. Tarpon are just starting to show up in Government Cut as they anticipate the first real shrimp runs of the year. South BIscayne Bay has had some great fishing in the Finger Channels off of Key Biscayne. Mutton and mangrove snapper, red & black grouper, bluefish, Spanish mackerel, pompano, jacks, ladyfish and sharks have been biting on both tides. In Flamingo snook, redfish and sea trout have been hitting good in Florida Bay and in the Gulf of Mexico Spanish mackerel, bluefish, the first pompano of the year, cobia, tripletail, sharks, ladyfish and jacks have been biting non stop as long as there has been a good current. Fishing from shore along the Tamiami Trail all the way out to Marco Island has been producing some real good action on snook.

So what are you waiting for the cold winter weather to move in and shut down some of the best fishing of the year? Still have time to buy that special someone a gift certificate for a special fishing trip with Capt. Alan Sherman. Give me a call and lets get em on the “Get Em”
