Wisconsin River Musky Report

Postby JDeBoer » Tue May 27, 2008 5:49 pm

Musky opener arrived this past Saturday and found water temperatures hovering from 60-62 degrees early in the morning. Despite the cooler than usual temps, the action was consistently good. We did well this past weekend on smaller in-line style bucktails such as Mepps Musky Killers in a variety of patterns. Small DeLONG Killer Eels and small Suzy Suckers worked well especially as the weekend wore on and seemed to produce better than twitch baits. The bulk of the fish were in shallow weedy cover or wood, often in depths of only 2'-3'. On a side note, the northern pike were also quite active with fish into the 30 inch range showing up on a regular basis as well.

Tight lines,
