Hitting big bass on the troll - Fished the back bay during the couple of sunny days this past week. Clamming was not very productive so we started trolling. Hit bass right away on the shads. Fish to 25lbs on Saturday and 18lbs on Tuesday.

Raritan Bay report May 4 - Roaring west winds against an incoming tide made for a tough day today. The Bass were there but not hitting the clam baits. The Fluke are in. - May 12. Made our first Fluke trip of the year today with great conditions and sunny skys. With the whole fleet out it was hard to find a piece of bottom without a bunch of boats dragging hooks accross it. We picked at the fish with a bunch of shorts more... Capt. Fluke bite picking up in Sandy Hook bay - July 18. Nice conditions today with a west wind at 10 to 15 mph. Had good drifts on the Leonardo flats with fish on every drift. Caught lots of Fluke with keepers to 22 inches. Lots of shorts and some 5lbs Blues mixed in with the catch.

Striped Bass fishing in Raritan Bay - April 24. Ran out to Romer shoals today to clam for some bass. Anchored up on some readings and had our first bass within 20min. Had a steady pick through the outgoing tide. Most bass were between 27 to 30. Not the hot fishing we had on top last we more... Capt. Karl McKenna - Raritan Bay
